Selected candidates
for constabulary storm High Court precincts Scrutiny unearths 'lapses'
in Nagaon, Nov 17
Over 250 candidates, who had made it to the panel for recruitment
of constabulary in Assam,
stormed into the Guwahati High Court precincts today and shouted
slogans in favour of their appointment. The candidates, who had
staged a dharna at Dispur yesterday in protest against the delay
in their appointment, threatened to go for self-immolation if they
were not appointed soon.
Meanwhile, the HC bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi and others found
serious lapses in the recruitment procedure of Nagaon district during
the scrutiny today. During the scrutiny many vital documents, including
register of candidates, list of selected candidates and many other
relevant documents were found missing.
